The University Center for Obesity Research, in collaboration with the Events Unit, organized an important educational workshop for obesity patients and attendees of outpatient clinics. This workshop aims to provide information about new treatment methods and raise awareness among patients about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and maintaining an ideal weight. During the workshop, a team of doctors and specialists provided detailed explanations about modern treatment methods for obesity patients, including medication, surgery, and healthy nutrition. Several patients were also examined using a body fat measurement and analysis device to provide an accurate assessment of their health status and determine the necessary steps for improvement. This workshop embodies the center's efforts to provide support and awareness for obesity patients, encouraging them to take steps towards improving their health. It is expected that such events will continue to enhance communication b

A medical team from the Protein Research Unit at the University Center for Obesity

A medical team from the Protein Research Unit at the University Center for Obesity Research in the College of Medicine at King Saud University has demonstrated through scientific research the presence of protein changes associated with the use of liraglutide treatment and its correlation with reducing blood glucose levels, as well as improving the health of the heart and blood vessels in patients with type 2 diabetes. The researchers relied on mass spectrometry-based proteomics combined with bioinformatics to analyze the protein network pathway in the plasma of individuals with type 2 diabetes before and after using liraglutide treatment. Dr. Asim bin Abdulaziz Al-Fadda, the Director of the University Center for Obesity Research at the university, explained that the use of this treatment is accompanied by a decrease in glycated hemoglobin levels in the blood, and a change in several proteins responsible for regulating metabolic processes, including acute-phase response proteins, enzyme

A medical team at King Saud University studies protein analysis of thyroid tissue Statistically significant differences between tissues extracted from enlarged and normal glands جامعة الملك سعود واس تم النشر في:  07 نوفمبر 2023, 3:11 مساءً A research study conducted by a medical team in the Proteins Research Unit at the University Center for Obesity Research at the College of Medicine at King Saud University concluded that there are statistically significant differences between tissues extracted from enlarged glands and tissues extracted from normal glands. Bioinformatics analysis using path analysis also identified the presence of an abnormality In regulating signaling pathways associated with ERK1/2, glutathione peroxidase and other pathways associated with endocrine system disorders and tumors. Reaching these scientific results after analyzing the results of assays to determine changes in protein expression is a complement to previous studies in this field that seek to understand
