In a vibrant and informative atmosphere aimed at promoting health awareness and scientific research, the World Obesity Day 2025 event was officially inaugurated on Wednesday. The event was organized by the University Obesity Research Center and held at the Outpatient Clinics Building – King Khalid University Hospital.
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of His Excellency the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Bandar Al-Jafen, His Excellency the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Asem Al-Fadda, and the Vice Dean for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Hanaa Al-Bulaihi. The officials toured the event, exploring its awareness booths and research-based activities.
The event featured several key components, including educational stations about obesity and its health risks, presentations of the latest research findings, and on-site consultation services for attendees, along with the distribution of awareness materials. The initiative drew notable engagement from the public, health professionals, and university students.
