The College of Medicine at King Saud University hosted H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to deliver a lecture titled “Humanity in Medicine: Lessons from My Life.” The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafen, along with university officials, faculty members, and students.
At the beginning of the event, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafen welcomed Dr. Al-Rabeeah, emphasizing the college’s commitment to preparing highly qualified medical professionals capable of serving society with excellence and strong humanitarian values. He noted that hosting Dr. Al-Rabeeah represents an inspiring opportunity to learn from a distinguished career that combines medical excellence, leadership, and humanitarian service.
The audience viewed a presentation highlighting Dr. Al-Rabeeah’s rich professional journey and his major achievements in both the medical and humanitarian fields, particularly through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
During his lecture, Dr. Al-Rabeeah stressed that medicine is a humanitarian mission grounded in compassion, responsibility, and respect for human dignity. He reflected on his experience in pediatric surgery and conjoined twins separation, مؤكداً that a doctor’s success goes beyond clinical achievements to alleviating suffering and instilling hope in patients and their families.
He also discussed his transition into humanitarian work through KSrelief, established in 2015, which has implemented thousands of aid projects across more than 100 countries, with a total value exceeding $8 billion. He further highlighted the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, which has successfully performed numerous separation surgeries and cared for many cases from around the world, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s global humanitarian role.
As part of his visit, Dr. Al-Rabeeah also toured the University Obesity Research Center, where he reviewed its facilities, scientific achievements, and ongoing research projects. Discussions also explored potential collaboration opportunities to support research efforts and advance innovation in obesity-related studies.
